Nubia Z17miniS with four cameras officially launched, priced at CNY1999

Nubia has just unveiled the Nubia Z17miniS in Shenzhen early today. The smartphone is made of metal frame and glass. It features a beautiful 3D color gradient curved glass which is the industry’s first to use at the back of the smartphone. It is positioned as the upper mid-range category. You still can see the signature design like the red accents around the rear cameras and the red holo circle on the home button.

The Z17miniS comes with a JDI’s 5.2-inch FHD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 653 SoC with Adreno 510 GPU. It is coupled with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of built-in storage. Sadly, there is no mircoSD storage expansion. It also embeds a 3200mAh non-removable battery. It comes with a USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer.

There is a home button doubles as a fingerprint scanner. It also support NFC, dual band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1. The smartphone does not have a 3.5mm audio jack but it comes with Smart PA technology for improved audio quality.

Interestingly, the Z17miniS comes with four cameras. The dual rear cameras are two Sony IMX258 13MP F/2.2 sensors in the monochrome and RGB configuration. There is a dual LED (dual-tone) flash beside the camera. The dual front cameras is a combination of a 16MP F/2.0 and a 5MP F/2.2 wide-angle sensor. The cameras utilise Nubia’s NeoVision 7.0 camera software for beauty adjustment and real-time bokeh effect.

The Nubia Z17miniS comes in Black Gold, Deep Blue, and Aegean Blue. The smartphone goes on sale on the 19th of October in China for a retail price of CNY1999 (Around RM1280).
