Xiaomi prepares to take on OPPO and vivo in the offline markets

Xiaomi has mentioned last year that they will shift their focus on the offline market this year. It is commonly known to us that OPPO and Vivo have been successful over the years in focusing on the lucrative offline segment by creating a robust distribution network in tier 2 and tier 3 cities in China and India.

Source claims Xiaomi is launching a new smartphone lineup that will be targeting the offline segment called Lan mi. Lan mi’s first smartphone is rumored to launch by the end of this month.

The said device will be featuring a dual camera setup and antenna lines that looks like the one on the OnePlus 5. Since the Lan mi lineup will be offered for offline market, it is suppose that the retail price will be priced much higher than their online models such as Mi series and Redmi series. The company is said to be prioritizing the design over the internal hardware in order to emulate what OPPO and Vivo have done to great effect in this category.
