Xiaomi Mi4i with Snapdragon 615 announced in India
Xiaomi just announced the Mi4i at its global launch event held in New Delhi, India today. The newly launched Mi4i is Xiaomi’s latest mid range smartphone that offers decent specs at an affordable price.
The Mi4i device body has solid built quality of ultra-compact unibody design. According to Xiaomi, the Mi4i is 12 percent thinner and 13 percent lighter than the Mi4. It has 7.8 mm of depth and weighing in at 130 grams only which is thinner and lighter than its predecessor.
The Mi4i adopts a 5 inch Sharp/JDI Full HD OGS Display which has clear view even under the sun. It is powered by a 2nd generation Snapdragon 615 Octa Core 64-bit processor. It is mated with 2GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage.
Its rear camera uses a 13 megapixel Sony/Samsung sensor, F/2.0 lens with two-tone flash while the front-facing camera is a 5MP snapper.
Its other main specs includes dual SIM slot that supports 4G LTE, 3,120 mAh battery that can last 1.5 days of normal usage that comes with Quick Charge. Xiaomi claims the Mi4i Quick Charge is able to reach 40% charge in 1 hour and Full charge in 3 hours. The device runs MIUI 6 on Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box.
The Xiaomi Mi4i is available in Black, White, Yellow, Pink and Blue five color variants. It will go on sale in India on April 30 at a retail price of Rs. 12,999 (approximately RM750).
Considering Xiaomi Malaysia is going to launch a few new devices which likely to be the Mi Note and the Mi4 3G in our market, we do hope to see the Mi4i featured in Malaysia soon as it offers great performance at a budget-friendly price tag.
