Xiaomi launched “everyone can sell Xiaomi product” business model

Xiaomi introduced a new online business model last March allowing Mi Fans to open their own mini shops to sell Mi products through their own platform. Xiaomi launched the beta version today, inviting Mi Fans to register as a seller and try out the beta website.

Xiaomi is the first Android phone company with a loyal fanbase as many as Apple’s. They call themselves Mi Fans. Mi Fans are known to be knowledgeable and passionate of Xiaomi as a brand and its products. They also interact with other fans frequently through social media and its 40 million members in the MIUI forum. Xiaomi has their own dedicated “Mi Fans’ Day” to hold special marketing campaigns, fans’ gatherings and new products announcement.

With this new online business model, Xiaomi hopes to expand its market by having Mi Fans promote for them, with Xiaomi directly supplying the products to the sellers. This also helps to keep their marketing and operating costs low.
