Webe to introduce 300Mbps download speed network by end of 2017

Webe is a subsidiary of Telekom Malaysia, which have begun to offer their services to the public since September of last year. Through Webe, they offer packages starting RM79 per month that offers UNLIMITED data usage, calls and SMS.

The only problem with Webe is its speed consistency. While some areas in Kuala Lumpur offer great download and upload speeds, those speeds were not carried throughout the whole country. Even in the city centre of Kuala Lumpur, different places offer different speeds. Today, Webe shared about the development of technologies they currently undergo and share what they are planning to upgrade for the network in years to come. For now, Webe adopted the 850MHz FD-LTE that are consider quite slow in modern LTE connection standard.

Fortunately, Webe will introduce TD-LTE connection standard at the first quarter of 2017. By that time, the speed of their internet service will be rocketed to 165Mbps. By integrating the advantages of TD-LTE and FD-LTE standard, the internet speed will be double up to 300Mbps by end of 2017.
