Samsung and Xiaomi lead the indian smartphone market in Q3 2017

According to latest Counterpoint’s market survey for India, Samsung and Xiaomi account for 45 percent of smartphone market in India in Q3 2017. Vivo, OPPO and Lenovo are placed on third, fourth and fifth positions.

In Q3 2017, Samsung has a market share of 23 percent. The company is closely followed by Xiaomi with a market share of 22 percent. Recently, Xiaomi gains strong performance in mid-range smartphone segment in India. Three of the top five bestselling smartphones are Xiaomi smartphone. It may surpass Samsung to become the number one smartphone brand in India soon.

Fortunately, Samsung still leads the featurephone with a market share of 23 percent. ITEL, Micromax, Nokia and Lava make up the top five featurephone brands in India. Apple, OnePlus and Samsung dominated the premium smartphone market segment.

For the first time in India, the strong sales of smartphones and featurephones shipments have crossed 84 million mark.
