Samsung Spain hands out 200 free Galaxy Note 8 units on a plane

Samsung Spain handed out free Galaxy Note 8 units to 200 unsuspecting passengers on a late night Iberia flight from Madrid to A Coruña. The surprise move came after Iberia started promoting the Galaxy Note 8. Passengers were not expecting to get a free gift that cost more than their ticket.

All of the passengers were given a free Galaxy Note 8 unit by the crew. The box carried the translated text: “A year ago we asked you to turn it (Galaxy Note 7) off, we welcome you today on board”.

This giveaway was organized by Samsung Spain to remind people of last year’s unfortunate events. Galaxy Note 7 was banned from airplanes because of its fire risked faulty battery. The airlines had also announced the Galaxy Note 7 was not allowed in the cabin. Samsung’s reputation took a hit afterwards. Finally, the company’s reputation bounced back with this Galaxy Note 8’s regional marketing effort.
