*UPDATE* We have been notified by OPPO officials that our hands on unit here is actually the OPPO R7 instead of the OPPO R7 Lite. Nevertheless, both devices share an identical exterior design and dimensions which do not affect our first impression towards it.

This is the front look of the OPPO R7 Lite. The display has a 2.5D glass panel with slight curve on top which is referred to by Oppo as the ‘violin arc’. The three backlitted capacitive buttons are situated below the display.

Above the display, we have a speaker, 8MP front-facing camera and a proximity sensor.

The metal frame with well polished chamfers makes the device looks premium when holding in hand.

The metal surface on the back gives comfortable touch which will not end up becoming a finger print magnet. There are two plastic bars on top and bottom of the back panel.

On the back of the phone, we have a 13MP main camera on the top left side of the device with the LED flash situated below the camera. The noise cancelling microphone is placed on the upper middle part below the top plastic bar. While the OPPO logo is landed on the center of the back panel.

The loudspeaker grill is placed on bottom right on the back. This position is not very suitable for those who like to listen music or play movies on it as the output sound might be blocked when the back of the phone is placed on a flat surface. The plastic bar is seen again here at the bottom of the device.

The power button is placed on the left side of the phone.

The volume buttons and SIM/MicroSD card combo slots are placed on the right of the device.

On the top, we have a 3.5mm audio jack placed here.

On the bottom, there’s a micro USB port and a noise-cancelling microphone seen here.

This is our hands on and first impression on the OPPO R7 Lite. It is a premium looking smartphone which we believe it will receive a good response by local consumers once it is available in our local market.
