New variant LG Gseries: LG G6 Plus and G6 Pro Launching in South Korea on June 27

LG had launched the LG G6 in February during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 event. LG is looking to expand its G6 smartphone lineup. ET News, a South Korean publication had reported that LG is planning to introduce two new variants called LG G6 Plus and LG G6 Pro in early month.

It appears that LG will introduce a new color option called “Astro Black,” which is meant to distinguish these models from the standard G6 variant.

LG has used an unusual method to apply this color on the phones so that users will see different tones of black depending on the angle of light rays. LG G6 Plus will come with 128GB storage inside and wireless charging. LG G6 Pro comes with half the internal memory included in the G6 – 32GB. We wonder how the new variant that offers lesser storage could live up the “Pro” labeling.

LG had introduced the LG Pay. LG Pay is a mobile payment solution based on Wireless Magnetic Communication tech that will allow users to touch their LG phones at credit card devices to initiate transaction. As far we know, LG G6 is the only device support LG Pay, and the upcoming variant will be added to support LG Pay.

LG G6 Pro will be available for purchase in South Korea for around 799,800 KRW which equals to RM3530, while the G6 Plus model will cost 999,800 KRW which equal to RM 3795 outright. We are yet to receive information of the availability whether LG has any plans to sell the LG G6 Plus and G6 Pro outside of South Korea
