MWC 2017: LG G6 goes official with FullVision Display and built-in Google Assistant

LG has just announced its newest 2017 flagship smartphone namely LG G6 which features a 5.7-inch QHD+ (2,880 x 1,440 resolution) FullVision display.

The G6 screen is the first smartphone to come with 18:9 aspect ratio instead of the regular 16:9 aspect ratio. The reason why they adopt the 18:9 format is because it offers more viewing space and a more immersive experience when streaming videos and playing games.

Specifications wise, it is running on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor coupled with 4GB RAM and an expandable storage that you can choose in between 32GB or 64GB of space. It is powering up by a 3,300mAh capacity battery that supports Quick Charge 3.0 via USB Type-C.

The device is made out of aluminum and glass materials, presenting an elegant look with premium finishing. It uses rounded corners for both body and display which disperses the impact if the phone is dropped. It is also worth noting that the phone is IP68 rated for water and dust resistant.

For its camera, the G6 has once again adopted two rear cameras setup with both using 13MP IMX258 image sensor — a standard one with f/1.8 main camera featuring optical stabilization plus a 71-degree field of view while the other wide angle lenses at 125 degrees with f/2.4 aperture. This allow the camera to deliver exceptional photoshooting experience by creating seamless transitions when zooming in and out between the wide-angle and standard camera lenses. On the front, it uses a 5-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture and 100-degree field of view.

It also features a Square Camera Mode that displays your recent photos in one window in film mode. Users can also create GIFs by combining between 2 and 100 photos from the gallery.

Other features of the LG include fingerprint sensor, Dolby Vision technology and HDR 10 supported, running Android 7.1 Nougat + LG UX 6.0 with Google Assistant built-in, and 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC.

The LG G6 comes in Black, Silver and White colorways. Its availability and pricing have yet to be disclosed.
