Motorola introduces Z2 Play along with Moto E and Moto C family for Malaysian market

Today, Motorola Malaysia has announced a series of its latest smartphones for the local market. These new Moto handsets include Moto Z2 Play plus the Moto E4 and Moto C lineup that target the mid range market.


The Moto Z2 Play is the second generation of Moto’s modular smartphone— Moto Z Play. It supports the Moto Mods which gives extra functionality to the device. Specs wise, it offers a 5.5 inch Full HD Super AMOLED display, Snapdragon 626 processor that’s paired with 4GB RAM, 64GB of expandable storage and a 3,000 mAh size battery which has fast charging via USB Type-C port.

For the photography department, there’s a 12MP f/1.7 dual-pixel rear camera and a 5MP f/2.2 front snapper. Out of the box, it is running the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS. The first 1,000 customers who purchase the Moto Z2 Play will get an exclusive gift box which consists of a Carbon Fibre Style Cap, Moto Z2 Play Metal Phone Frame, Motorola Selfie Stick and Nano Liquid Film worth RM299 while stocks last.

The Moto E4 and E4 Plus are midrange smartphones that come with a 5″ 720p HD display and 5.5″ HD 720p display respectively.

Under the hood, both models are powered by a MediaTek MT6737 1.3 GHz quad-core processor and running Android 7.1.1 Nougat natively. In terms of memory options, the E4 has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage while the E4 Plus is paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The internal memory for both models are further expandable via microSD card. The E4 has a 2,800 mAh size battery, while the E4 Plus is packed with a massive 5,000 mAh capacity battery.

The E4 uses an 8MP f/2.2 rear camera and a 5MP f/2.0 front camera for photography purposes. Whereas the E4 Plus sports a  13MP f/2.0 rear shooter and 5MP f/2.4 front camera along with a Dolby Atmos speaker setup. It is also worth mentioning that both have fingerprint scanners on the front.

In terms of battery, the Moto E4 comes with a 2,800mAh capacity while the E4 Plus is bigger at 5,000mAh. Both phones are running Android 7.1.1 Nougat on top.

For those who are looking for affordable smartphones under Moto brand, the new Moto C and C Plus are great choices to go for.

Being the entry level model of the new lineup, the Moto C features a 5 inch 854×480 display and it is powered by a 1.1GHz MediaTek MT6737m processor that mated with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage. Its battey size is 2,350mAh, and it comes with dual-SIM slots where Slot A will support 4G and Slot B will only support 2G.

Camera wise, you will be getting a 5MP f/2.4 rear camera and a 2MP f/2.8 selfie camera to satisfy your photoshooting desire.

The Moto C Plus on the other hand also comes with a 5 inch screen with 720p resolution. It is running on a 1.3GHz MT6737 processor that is paired with 2GB RAM and 16GB of expandable storage. It packed with a 4,000 mAh capacity battery and uses a 8MP f/2.2 rear camera and a front facing 2MP f/2.8 selfie shooter for photography session. Both Moto C devices will come with Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box.

  • Moto C Plus – RM539 (Color options: Starry Black and Fine Gold)
