Microsoft rolling out patch for Windows XP to counter ‘WannaCrypt’ attacks

WannaCrypt, a ransonwawre that blackmail Windows’ user to pay in order to retrieve their file had widely spread around the world 2 days ago. According to MalwareTech, there are more than 200 thousands user are affected to this attacks.

If you’re Windows 10 user with enabled regular Windows update, you’re save from this attack. However, for users who are not receiving any further support from Microsoft such as Windows XP users, you’re vulnerable under this attack. Luckily, Microsoft had released a security patch for you to prevent ‘WannaCrypt’ attack.

Microsoft patched all of its currently supported systems to fix the flaw back in March, but now there’s an update available for unsupported systems too, including Windows XP, Windows 8 and Windows Server 2003, which you can grab here.
