Microsoft to collaborate with Toyota in automotive industry

Microsoft have penned an agreement with Toyota for authorising the use of its technology and software for developing smart car ecosystems.

With the agreement signed, Toyota is authorised to use Windows system, navigation, Wi-Fi network and cloud services in building a smarter car play system.

Microsoft has revealed that for the time being they are not interested in developing self-driving vehicle yet hoping to build a smart car ecosystem with the start of Cortana – an intelligent personal assistant by Microsoft.

Microsoft had partnered Ford, Kia, BMW, Nissan and Fiat with tailored made Windows system in the past. This move suggested that Microsoft is likely to enter automotive industry in large scale.
