MediaTek is set to launch the new Mid-Range Chip Helio P30 soon

According to source, MediaTek will launch a new mid-range octa-core processor chip – Helio P30 against rival chips such as Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 630 and Snapdragon 660.

Helio P30 which manufactured by TSMC at 12nm manufacturing process composed of four 2GHz Cortex-A72 cores and four 1.5GHz Cortex-A53 cores. The processor is expected to support camera sensors of up to 25-megapixels, UFS 2.0 flash memory, and LPDDR4. It supports Cat. 10 LTE band with a downlink rate of up to 600Mbps.

Recent leaks also suggest that MediaTek Helio P30 will be first used by Meizu MX7 which is expected to be launching later this year. Helio P30 will be priced less than Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 630 and Snapdragon 660.

MediaTek is trying to turn things around by pushing out an array of new chips to revive its revenue since its shipments are down by almost 100 million units in Q1 2017.
