Flash Plus 2 launched: Featuring metal body, Helio P10 SoC and retailed from RM642!
TCL has unveiled Flash Plus 2 in an online conference today. This is the first device launched under TCL’s subsidiary brand called Flash.
The Flash Plus 2 is offering a full metal body design and sports a 5.5-inch Full HD OGS display with 160-degree viewing angles and a 1000:1 contrast ratio.
Under the hood, it is powered by a MediaTek’s Helio P10 64-bit 2.0 GHz octa-core SoC that is coupled with a Mali-T860MP2 GPU. On the memory options, there’s a 2GB RAM + 16GB ROM model and another higher specs version that provides 3GB RAM with 32GB storage. It is worth highlighting that both models are expandable via microSD card of up to 128 GB.
This handset carries a 3,000mAh battery group and adopts TI BQ25896 fast-charging chip and 9V/1.67A fast-charging technologies provided by Texas Instruments of the United States, which can charge battery to 50% in 30 minutes for up to a 10-hour uninterrupted call.
On the camera department, the Flash Plus 2 houses a 13-megapixel OV13853 sensor with an f/2.0 aperture and is accompanied by a dual LED flash and a 76.5-degree wide-angle 5P lens. Its Phase Detection Auto Focus feature allows the device to lock its focus in 0.1 second. The front-facing camera is using a 5-megapixel sensor with 1.12μm pixel size, f/2.2 aperture and an 84-degree wide-angle lens. The front camera also added a ‘selfie flash’ for better-lit selfies.
Nowadays, most users are concern about the audio quality of the phone. Apparently, Flash is aware of this and included the independent AKM4375 audio decoding chip into the Flash Plus 2 along with state-of-the-art IRD sound digital filter, with value-retaining signal output measuring up to high-fidelity acoustic effects. The NXP980 power amplification chip and built-in DSP algorithm drives speaker power to reach 3.6W – eight times greater than volume of average smart phones.
In addition, this device also comes with a fingerprint scanner, dual SIM card that supports 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 820.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS for the connectivity segment. Out of the box, it is running Android 6.0 Marshmallow that offers APP access control, web browsing, APP relevance, and smart energy-saving function etc.
The phone will come in Luna Silver and Venus Gold two color choices, and will be retailed at USD160 (approx. RM642) for the 2 GB / 16 GB version and USD190 (approx. RM763) for the premium model that bundled 3 GB RAM/ 32 GB ROM.
It will be launched in the Philippines, Malaysia, Vietnam, Monaco and Thailand for the first batch.
