Dislike the Bixby button? Now you can disable it for good!

Samsung has introduced its own smart assistant called Bixby during the official launch of the Galaxy S8 series. Samsung has then added a dedicated Bixby button into the Galaxy S8 lineup and the newly launched Galaxy Note 8 that allow users to be able to activate the Bixby assistant instantly within your fingertips.

The latest reports revealed that the new firmware update now lets user to disable the button’s functionality — a move we’ve since directly confirmed with Samsung.

By default, hitting the button will launch the Bixby Home hub and you can switch on the Bixby voice by holding down the button. The new update will add a new setting to disable that quick tap hub launching feature.

However, Samsung has not completely disabled Bixby though. Samsung will be pushing Bixby to compete with the likes of Apple, Amazon, Microsoft and Google by unleashing the potential to make or break testing ground for the assistant.
