BLUBOO S8 & Leagoo’s KIICAA S8: Contend in 18:9 Display

BLUBOO S8 & Leagoo’s KIICAA S8: Contend in 18:9 Display

After Samsung S8’s fantastic design which see the Korean company abandoned the “traditional 16:9” screen ratio and welcomed the new era of 18:9 screen ratio that allow to increase screen-to-body ratio to even a higher percentage.

We are not surprise to see other smartphone company will also follow the new trend. However the below two new smartphones look coincidentally familiar despite just the display.

BLUBOO S8

BULBOO maybe sound new to local consumers. From their official website we found that BLUBOO is registered by Shenzhen Huihua Exploit Technology Co,.LTD.

Moving into today’s topic, The BLUBOO S8 is touted as the world’s first full-screen flagship phone powered by a MediaTek processor. This is some detail that we managed to obtain: a 5.7-inch HD+ screen with a 1440 x 720 resolution, powered by Helio X30 processor, mated with either 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM or 6GB RAM + 128GB version. It will have dual Sony cameras on the back with dual LED flash. Refer to the prototype picture, the fingerprint sensor should be located at the back of the phone.

Leagoo KIICAA S8

LEAGOO on the other should be a much familiar brand to Malaysians as we can see some advertising while browsing and surfing around. LEAGOO is a brand owned by OTEDA Group which is a Chinese OEM smartphone maker.

The Leagoo KIICAA S8 will have a 5.72-inch display with 1440 x 720 resolution, powered by MediaTek’s new MT6763 processor, mate with either 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM or 6GB RAM + 128GB version.

It will also come in two other variants: KIICAA S8 Lite and a KIICAA S8 Premium. The S8 Premium will reportedly have a 5.9-inch display. Details of these phones are rather limited and yet to mention of its battery, cameras and dimensions.
