MWC 2017: BlackBerry KEYOne officially unveiled

TCL Communication has officially launched the latest BlackBerry smartphone — KEYone at MWC 2017 today. This device was formerly being named as Mercury DTEK70, it has now turned out to become the first smartphone announced under the new brand and device-licensing strategy.

The KEYone offers a 4.5-inch IPS scratch-resistant display with 1,620 x 1,080 pixel resolution of 3:2 aspect ratio. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor with 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal memory. It has a 3,505mAh capacity battery with Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging technology support.

Camera wise, it is equipped with a 12MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture that is capable of recording 4K video and an 8MP selfie camera. It also added back the physical keyboard which provides more flexibility and usable space for typing compared to your everyday smartphone.

Out of the box, it is running on Android 7.1 Nougat with BlackBerry Hub that brings all your messages, emails and social media accounts in one app.

The BlackBerry KEYOne will debut in the market in April with the retail price of USD549 (approx. RM2,439). Will it be introduced in Malaysia? Follow us for the updates on its local launch.
