The BlackBerry KEYone is coming to Malaysia very soon

The BlackBerry KEYone, previously codenamed ‘Mercury’, is coming to Malaysia very soon. BlackBerry KEYone was officially unveiled during this year’s MWC (Mobile World Congress). A search through SIRIM’s database shows that Brightstar Distribution has registered this device.

With the Nougat-powered KEYone, Blackberry is back at attracting their favourite target customers – BlackBerry purists and business customers. And what is a Blackberry without it’s physical keyboard? Similar to the older Blackberry models, the BlackBerry KeyOne’s QWERTY keyboard doubles up as a makeshift trackpad. All 52 buttons are programmable as customisable shortcuts with the fingerprint scanner built into the spacebar.

KEYone sports a 4.5-inch 1620 x 1080 IPS display. It is powered by the Snapdragon 625 processor and 3505 mAh battery with QC 3.0 support, 3GB RAM and 32GB storage expandable via microSD card slot up to 2TB cards. It also has NFC and a USB Type-C 3.1 port.

On the camera side, BlackBerry KEYone has a 12MP Sony IMX378 1.55μm sensor (like the Google Pixel) rear-facing camera. An 8MP camera sits on the front, and features an 84-degree wide-angle lens that can record 1080p videos at 30fps.

The BlackBerry KEYone was launched at the price of USD 549, which might be a good indicator of how it will be priced here.
