AT&T will sell Huawei’s upcoming flagship Mate 10 in US

Huawei has great success in the past few years (11.3% market share in the world, trailing only Samsung and Apple) and become the third largest smartphone maker in the world, despite having virtually no U.S. presence.

The Information reports the US second-largest carrier AT&T will sell Huawei’s upcoming flagship device sometime during the first half of 2018. The device is expected to be the Huawei’s flagship Mate 10. The device is expected to take the battle forward for Huawei on Apple and Samsung territory.

Huawei CEO Richard Yu said Mate 10 will be released in October. Yu said the Mate 10 will come with a 6-inch bezel-less display, a large battery, better photographing ability, and powered by Kirin 970 chipset. He also said the device can compete with the likes of the iPhone.

Carrier support is important to a smartphone’s success in the U.S. because most of the Americans purchase their smartphones through the channel. Riding the AT&T’s airwaves, Huawei could increase its overall footprint in US. Maybe Huawei will surpass Apple in the future become largest smartphone maker in the world.
