ASUS is working on a new 18:9 aspect ratio mid-range smartphone

ASUS is playing catch up to the 18:9 trend. A new device codenamed ASUS X018DC has been spotted on TENAA with an 18:9 display and a 4030 mAh battery.

The ASUS X018DC features a 5.7″ display (1440 x 720 pixels) with 18:9 aspect ratio. The device sports an octa-core MediaTek processor that runs at 1.5 GHz. It will be coupled with either 3GB RAM + 32GB of storage or 4GB RAM + 64GB of storage.

The ASUS X018DC measures at 8.8mm thick and 160g heavy. There is a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The back also reveals a 16MP and 8MP dual camera setup. It may be a standard and wide angle configuration like the ASUS ZenFone 4 Max Pro. On the front is an 8MP selfie camera. It also comes with a large 4030 mAh battery.

The ASUS X018D is expected to hit China’s market soon. It will come in black and rose gold colors. Pricing and release date is still not known. Stay tuned while we find out more about this device!
