Alienware is still the king of Gaming Laptop Brands

LAPTOP magazine recently reported the ranking of Gaming Laptop Brands of 2017. LAPTOP rated them on eight different criteria: Design, Review Scores, Keyboards, Displays, Software, Innovation, Warranty and Customization/Selection Options. All brands are rated on a 100-point scale.

Dell’s Alienware, the best-looking laptops with the strongest keyboards and displays on the market, earned 90 points and took the first place. MSI with its huge selection of innovative and powerful laptops took second place by scoring 85 points. Razer’s sleek designs, beautiful screens and innovative ideas helped them score 81 points and rounded out the top three. This is followed by ASUS, Acer, Gigabyte, Aorus and Lenovo.

LAPTOP said Asus has some of the most powerful gaming laptops in the market but it is not industry-leading. Acer’s strengths are in its responsive keyboards and its innovative ideas but its flaws are just as obvious. Origin is the king of customization but the limited warranty does not include round-trip shipping costs. Aorus / Gigabyte have a solid mix of laptops from both of its brands but it didn’t lead the pack in any of their categories and it tied for last place in review scores. Lenovo do not offer the features serious gamers crave, such as customizable backlighting and high-end Nvidia 1080 graphics. From shallow keyboards to dim displays and boring, plasticky chassis, this resulted in HP taking the last place.
